FAQ's
  • Joining the Mountain Dew-ers.  To join the Mountain Dew-ers, dancers should be proficient at the Mainstream Level and/or at the Phase 2 Round Dance Level.  Dues are $10 per year. In November, $5.25 of the $10 is forwarded to the State Federation to pay for dancer insurance.
  • Why am I asked to sign when I attend a dance or lessons?   Having a sign in sheet is necessary for insurance purposes.
  • Do I need to wear traditional square dance clothes?  Traditional square dance attire is always admired, but not required for Mountain Dew-ers dances.  Men are strongly encouraged to wear long sleeve shirts at dances and lessons.  It is a good idea to check on dress requirements before visiting other clubs or attending State Festivals.
  • What is a Community Dance?  Mountain Dew-ers host community dances several times each year, usually in September and January.  Circle, square, sicilian circle, and line dances are called at this event.  No previous square dance experience is required to attend a Community Dance.
